In the right panel, find out the settings that says “ Configure device installation time-out".

Navigate to the following path: Computer Configuration –> Administrative Templates –> System –> Device Installation from the left panel of the window. The following window will popup in your screen. Make sure that, you have admin rights on that system. This will open up the Group Policy Editor of your system. Type “ gpedit.msc” as shown below and hit enter.

To open the Group Policy Editor, open the Run dialog or go to start screen. Neither me, nor will be responsible if something goes wrong with your system. Though I have tested this trick and it works fine, but still apply it on your own risk. Please note that, playing with system registry and/or with group policy editor might crash your system. Try this out only if you are an advanced user with administrative rights in your system. This can be achievable by changing the value in Group Policy Editor. To resolve this timeout issue while installing the device driver, you have to do a system trick by changing the device installation timeout value to a higher one. Just putting the same information here, in case it helps you in future. Then I came to a forum post which helped me to resolve the issue. Searched it online but could not figure out the solution. I tried several solutions like uninstalling the device from the device manager, updating the audio driver but all resulted in vain showing a Timeout Error while installing the new driver.
